At a height of 14,500 feet, Sarchu Village lies tucked between Baralacha La Pass and Lachung La Pass. It is a stopover location for visitors and adventurers who are traveling along the Manali-Leh route and is commonly referred to as Sir Bhum Chun. Leh is 250 miles away, while Manali is 220 kilometers away. It is a popular vacation spot for thrill-seekers and is situated on the border between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Many camping alternatives have developed in and around Sarchu as a result of the fact that most travelers just stop there for the night to rest up after a long drive. Sarchu doesn’t have any conventional hotels, but the campers there more than make up for it. These camps run from May through August and are semi-permanent.

Things to do around:

  • Star gazing while camping
  • Late evening star photography
  • It is just the breathtaking magnificence of the majestic mountains and the tranquil environment that elevates them to a higher plane.
  • On the other hand, there are several tourist sites to enjoy along the Manali-Leh highway.

Tour Highlight

Sarchu is of great importance mainly due to its location on the Leh-Manali highway. It also resembles Ladakh with its barren splendor. This place can be visited between June and September when the snow melts and the Leh-Manali highway is open for traffic. Sarchu is an important route for Ladakh Manali Highway.
