The Chandra Taal, which means “Lake of the Moon,” is one of the crescent-shaped lakes situated in the midst of the Spiti Valley on the Samudra Tapu plateau. It is a well-liked destination for hikers and climbers. This Lake provides amazing views of the pure blue skies, the water, and the rocky landscape. It is surrounded on one side by scree mountains, and on the other by magnificent cirques. Especially at night, views of the Chandrataal Lake provide breathtaking views of the night sky illuminated by millions of brilliant stars.  The Chandrataal Lake in the Spiti Valley is regarded as one of Himachal Pradesh’s most stunning lakes. Chandrataal offers a unique combination of adventure and an untamed, barren environment. You may go through the wilderness to get to this lovely lake.

  • Chandrataal is located approximately 115 kilometers from Manali. Due to the road's terrible condition, the trip will likely take you anywhere from 6 to 8 hours.
  • The 60-kilometers stretch between Gramphu and Batal is completely off road.
  • Your speed will be limited to between 10 and 15 kilometers per hour on this route.
  • Take the Manali-Leh route until you reach the Atal tunnel. Continue on the Spiti valley road, passing Gramphu and Chatru, and you'll eventually get to Batal.
  • Take a left onto Chandrataal Road to get there.

  • There might be no bonfires. No-fire Zone.
  • Lake swimming is strictly prohibited for the public's safety.
  • For the same reasons that Chandrataal Lake is a holy place for the locals, we must show respect for it.
  • Chandrataal Meals only offers breakfast and a basic vegetarian dinner.
  • Remote location in extreme terrain and high altitude
  • Limited Electricity and power Supply between 7pm -10pm
  • Water may occasionally freeze due to low nighttime temperatures of zero or below. Therefore, store water accordingly.
  • No network area. There is no reception between Gramphoo and Losar.
  • Kindly do not expect any luxury amenities in Chandrataal Camps
  • Avoid using single-use plastic and don't litter; instead, please carry the trash back.

  • One can visit the lakeside before 05:00 pm
  • Dinner will be served by 09:00 pm.
  • Gazing up at the night sky filled with stars
  • Overnight stay in tents.
  • Tea and breakfast.
  • Check out by 10:00am. 
  • Head back home with happy memories only to come back camping with us again.

No Refund shall be made with respect to the initial booking amount for any cancellations. However -

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of the trip cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  •  If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 75% of the trip cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of the trip cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  •  In the case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.

I acknowledge that this activity is an extreme test of a person’s physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to: actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, guides, event officials, event monitors and/or producers of the event; lack of hydration, weather, and/or other natural conditions. I hereby assume all of the risks of participating in this event.I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for participation in this event and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person.I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability (AWRL) form will be used by RAW Escapades, their partners and the sponsors of the event in which I may participate and it will govern my actions and responsibilities at the event.In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this event, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows: (A) Waive, release, and discharge from any and all liability for my death, disability personal injury, property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which may hereafter accrue to me or my traveling to and from this event, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: Raw Escapades, Their partners, and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives and agents, the event sponsors and event volunteers, (B) indemnify and hold harmless all entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of my actions during this event. I hereby consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this event.I understand that at this event or related activities I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event holders, producers, sponsors, organizers, and/or assigns.This AWRL shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under the applicable law.I hereby certify that I have read this document and I understand its content
